Tommy Høvik focuses on spirituality, although it may not seem so at first sight. His atmospheric thesis “From here we go sublime” consists of assemblages complemented with texts and sculptures which the artist placed in a darkened space lit with spotlights. The installation deals with the possible boundaries of our understanding of finality and its reflection. In the end it examines the possibilities of contemporary yet informal spirituality based on purely personal experience. In a cubistic manner a deconstructed urn or a simple photograph of the sunset with text describing shared happiness are somewhat ironic but frank attempts to find and express his own personal and unique religion.
